<para>
As a result of the motions passed at our AGM in June, new class rules have
been adopted and passed by ISAF.
</para>
<para>
These were lost for a period of time when ISAF updated their website they
are available now and changes have taken effect from 1 Sept 2007.
</para>
<para>
http://www.sailing.org/classrules.php
</para>
<para>
Although the move towards having measurement forms issued at the factory for
commercially produced hulls has been approved, the IMCA Executive Committee
has delayed final implementation of this system until 1 Jan 2008. This will
allow time for the proper procedures and personal to be in place before we
move to this system, along with implementation of a new version of the
measurement form.
</para>
<para>
However the new sail numbering system is in place as follows;
</para>
<para>
All first time boats registered shall carry their country code and their
sail number shall be that of their ISAF Plaque (currently around '3250')
</para>
<para>
When a boat changes ownership, the new owner shall revert to the new sail
numbering system listed above.
</para>
<para>
Existing boats that already have a measurement certificate from their
national authority may continue to use their current nationally issued sail
number OR may voluntarily change to the new numbering system.
</para>
<para>
National Presidents and Secretaries are requested to contact their national
sailing federation to ensure these new systems are implemented.
